Rattlesnake Ridge in the Snow

A couple of weeks ago I hiked up Mailbox peak & took this picture of Rattlesnake Ridge, across the valley:

Yesterday, a couple friends and I, hiked Rattlesnake Ridge - the entire 10.25 miles from West (right) to East, ending up at Rattlesnake Lake (just visible on the left of the picture). This past week we had a little snow in the foothills; here is what we ran into:

This is certainly my favorite type of hiking. Nothing beats hiking in the snow. :)

What beautiful scenery. It reminds me of skiing in Lumby on dad's trails. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to get up into any snow the last couple of years.

That is so beautiful! One reason I love hiking so much. There is so much to see and places you can't go unless you're on foot.
